Over the next few weeks, we will be doing a donation drive to help raise money for the football team. We do not charge a fee for any child to play football so it would help a ton to be able to raise some money through donations. 100% of the money will go back into the football program in different ways. The first thing I would like to get will greatly improve our team speed. They are called speed sleds and cost roughly $100 each. We will use these during the summer and then again next year during winter and summer workouts. We will be getting 12 new football helmets this year as well. We would like to buy at least 10 new helmets every year and some of the money will go towards that. The players will also earn incentives for getting donations. Some of the money will be used to purchase those things. The incentives will be as follows:
Raise $20- Portland Football Towel
Raise $50- Towel and Portland Football Tshirt
Raise $100- Towel, Tshirt and Portland Football Duffel Bag
Raise $200- Towel, Tshirt, Bag and Portland Football Shorts
Raise $300- Towel, Tshirt, Bag, Shorts and Portland Football Hooded Sweatshirt
Top 5 Fundraisers will receive all the items listed in the $300 bracket with the Shirt, Bag and Sweatshirt all being personalized with their name and number.
The player who raises the most money will get everything listed as well as being able to keep their football helmet at the end of the season.
The donation drive will end on Saturday, July 14th. We will have meeting that morning as well as a work day at the field house. There are many things that can be done to improve the conditions for our players. More details about that will come later.
Also on the 14th, after we meet and work a little bit, we will be having a cookout around lunch time. Anyone who comes to help work, is invited to the cookout. We will need parents to bring grills and volunteer to cook as well. More details will be given as the time gets closer.
We will end the day with a parents vs. kids flag football game. Dads and even moms if you want to are encouraged to bring some cleats and have a little fun. The day should last from about 9am to 2-3 pm. We would like to get as many people involved in that as we can.
